The most wonderful woman in the world died this morning. She was 97 years old. She was the kind of person men and women looked up towards. She had been a widow for 40 years and lived alone up until just a few years ago when my sister Rachel and her new husband moved in with her so that she could stay the rest of her days in her home. Her little house stood on almost an acre of land which she gardened a large piece of it. She grew mostly tomatoes, which were the sweetest, and she gave them to family and friends freely. She was a strong woman in the Church and served working in the Temple until her body failed her and she was confined to a wheelchair. She always thought about serving others and always put herself last, if ever. I remember her always calling us up saying that she had made some soup for us, she loved feeding people and watching them enjoy it but rarely ate herself! I hope that my children will remember her and follow in her footsteps. I hope that I can be just a glimmer of the woman that she was. We love you Grandma Beardall.
