The last few months Owen has been really getting into Pokemon. Mostly because a boy I babysit also is into Pokemon and goes to a Pokemon Club once a week. Owen asked Austin, Andy, Sam, Jesse, and Kurt if he could use their Pokemon cards. He has built up a deck and has been learning how to battle. I can't believe how much Owen's reading, comprehension, concentration and math has improved playing Pokemon, so I guess Pokemon isn't all that bad.
That is awesome that Pokemon has been helping him with his learning skills. It also helps with social skills since you have to play with another person. I think it is important to find something a kid is really interested in that will, at the same time, help them learn valuable skills.
