Bailey's stitches

*Kim has the picture of the second before Bailey got hurt, but she has been super busy, trying to get her house ready to sell so she hasn't gotten a chance to send it to me.  But she has it, and it's pretty cool*

So we piled into the Suburban and headed down the canyon.  Once we got cell phone service I called our pediatricians office to see how late they were open.  They were open until 9:00 (it was currently 5:00) but the doctor was on lunch until 6:30.  We would be billed the emergency cost anyway so we decided to just head to the ER so she could be treated sooner.
Once we checked into the ER we decided that Reagan and Oakley were going to get bored fast, luckily Rachel lives about a block and a half away from the hospital.  She was able to come and get Reagan and Oakley.
When I got back into the room they were numbing up Bailey's leg.  She was trying to be brave but tears just streamed down her face, I almost lost it, but I had to be strong for her so I kept it together.  After they numbed her we had to wait a little bit for it to fully take effect then the doctor came in and scrubbed it up then stitched it closed.  He felt her bones and joints to make sure nothing was broken or torn.  Everything looked good so we were released.
She had to be careful because one of the cuts were on her knee, they didn't want it to pop back open.  She was pretty sore for a few days and had a limp.  Her leg and foot got a little bit of swelling the first few days but then it started going down.
This picture is of the day after the accident, it would still bleed everyone in a while, a little swollen and very tender.

This is the day she got her stitches out.  You can see how much she healed.  She even had new skin growing over the bottom stitches!
She got them out just in time for school to start.  Her leg feels really good now and she is back to her normal activity!

  1. So scary! I hate it when your kids get hurt and you can't really help them. I'm glad it all turned out alright. By the way, I love your family picture at the top of your blog. Very cute!
