Las Vegas Trip Day 2

Well we are early risers compared to the rest of Las Vegas.  We were usually up and ready to go by 8 but nothing opens up until 10!  The second day we wanted to go to the Adventuredome but it wasn't open yet so we decided to walk down to the 7 eleven so Bruce could get his daily dose of caffeine.  We took a couple pictures as we walked over.

Finally it was time to go to the Adventure dome.  We were the first ones in line buying tickets and the only ones in line for quite a few of the first rides!  One of the first rides you see as you walk in is the carousel.  Reagan squealed with delight and asked if it could be the first ride.  So the kids hopped on and went around and around and around...

The kids had fun riding in the hot air balloon Ferris wheel
We found this cute little merry-go-round that was just Oakley's size.  We had to pay $0.50 for it but it was the only ride he was allowed on so we splurged.  He had so much fun on it!

Bailey and I rode a few roller coasters together.  It was so much fun.  I even made her do a few that she was scared to at first but then after she thanked me for making her go on it because it was so much fun!
The middle ones loved the airplane ride

Bailey rode on a few rides with Reagan.
*By this time of the day the sun was up higher shining on the dome making a pink tint over everything so all of the pictures started turning out pinkish :(

The choo-choo train was lots of fun
But I think the overall favorite was the frog hopper.  I think the middle kids went on that about 20 times!  Reagan held on for dear life every time but as soon as it stopped she ran around to get back in line again.

As we were leaving they started a little clown show so we decided to stick around and watch it.  They needed kids from the audience and they picked all of my kids except Oakley.  Reagan was being silly and didn't want to go up but the other three did.  It was a cute little show and the clown taught the kids how to play "Twinkle, twinkle little star" with hand bells
Apparently Owens arm was getting tired

After the show everyone was ready to go.  We were all tired and hungry.  We decided to eat at the Circus Circus buffet that night then went strait to our hotel room.  I think we were all crashed by 8:30!

Las Vegas Trip Day 1

For spring break this year we decided to pack our bags and head to Las Vegas.  The kids were so excited, we have never been on a family vacation yet (other than visiting family) so this was long over due!  We stayed at the Circus Circus, which was the cheapest hotel on the strip, I figured we would rather spend money on doing stuff rather than where we slept.  Apparently they have remodeled their rooms so they were really nice, a lot better than I expected!
The kids did really good on the drive.  I am so thankful for modern technology, I really don't know how my parents did it!  All the kids had their DSi's and we had a movie going at all times!  The last hour was the hardest, the kept asking "Are we there yet?" I told them when they see lots of big buildings then we were there.  Finally we turned a corner and in the distance you could see the strip!
The kids loved the hotel room!  They were so excited, they had never been in a hotel room before.  The three middle kids asked if they could jump on the beds and I let them.  They were in heaven!  Oakley was entertained by the mirror that was low enough for him to climb up and see himself.

After we settled down a bit we went down to the midway.  They had lots of games for the kids to play.  We gave them all a roll of quarters for the ride down and if they got out of hand then we would get a quarter.  Too bad for us, they were good the whole trip so they each had their full roll to spend on the games.  They won quite a few stuffed animals.

Bailey's science experiment

This year for Bailey's science experiment she wanted to see what cleaned a white t-shirt best.  She tried Bleach, laundry detergent, dish soap, hand soap and just plain water.  The results were surprising!  The thing the worked the best was bleach, then dish soap, detergent came in third, fourth was plain water and very last was hand soap!  It would have been interesting to use other cleaners, maybe we can use it for Morgan's science experiment next year...

Cleaning fish

Bruce took the older girls fishing.  While they were fishing Bruce asked if they wanted to learn how to clean the fish.  Of course they wanted to!  They were so excited when they came home, Bruce let them clean the fish that they caught.  They really did good, Bruce is so proud that his girls aren't afraid to get dirty and bloody.

Morgan didn't think it was fair that Bailey was going to be able to clean out one of Bruce's fish.  I love that look on her face!

10 months old

My sweet baby turned 10 months on March 30th.  He is such a fun baby and always has a great big smile for anyone who talks to him...as long as they don't try to take him from me!
Some other things about Oakley this month:
*He has become an expert crawler and is everywhere in the house
*He has learned how to pull himself up to anything and start cruising
*He is getting pretty good at getting hurt.  He has fallen down the stairs twice and pulled 5 or 6 stools on top of him.  Luckily all the incidents just left him a bit shaken.
*He now has three teeth, two on the bottom and one on the top.  The two on the bottom actually have a tooth that still needs to come up between them so he looks like a little jack-o-lantern
*He learned to clap and can even do it on demand when we show other people
*Bruce is working on teaching him how to wave and give 'fives' he can do them just not on demand yet
*He loves to make sounds with his mouth.  He can roll his tongue, click his tongue, say la-la-la and makes this weird croaking sound with his throat
*He can say mama, dada, hi and no-no-no (with the accompanying hand wave) and he does them with purpose.
*He is eating more baby food but still prefers mommas milk
*Still waiting for him to sleep the 10 hour stretch

Singing at the Utah Flash game

The school choir that Bailey and Morgan sing in were invited to sing at the Utah Flash game on March 22.  The girls had fun even though I could barely see Morgan.  The choir sounded so good!

 My beautiful girls, after singing

The rest of the kids had fun cheering on their sisters.  Reagan and Oakley didn't like the UVU Wolverine that came around but thankfully he didn't come too close to us.

Here you can see part of Morgan's head :)

Spiderman Owen

Anyone who knows Owen knows that he has had an obsession with Spiderman since before he was two.  The obsession has died down a bit but there will always be a special part of his heart that belongs to Spiderman.  The other day as he was getting ready for bed he found one of his Spiderman costumes and had to put it on.  He started calling for me and Bruce to come and see him, when we got to the room we found Owen hanging upside down just like Spiderman!  What a kid!

ReAL Salt Lake game 2011

Heath and Vanessa invited us to another ReAL game.  It's really cool because they have a suite.  They usually have it to entertain clients but that night they invited us!  We also had dinner up there, there was giant hot dogs, nachos with all the fixings, hot wings, a vegetable tray, chips, popcorn, and drinks.  Everything was so delicious!
As soon as we got there Oakley had peed through his diaper on the way up so I had to change him into his jammies.  We brought Oakley's, Reagan's and Owen's jammies because the game didn't start until 8:00 so I knew that they would crash on the way home and it would just be easier not to have to put them in their jammies when we got home!  So as soon as Reagan saw that Oakley had his jammies on she had to have hers on.  So she spent the evening in her jammies too!
The kids had so much fun watching the game and trying to be loud to get on the big TV.  It never happened but they sure had fun trying!  It was a good game and I think that we won!  But I was pretty busy with Oaks to pay much attention :)
When we were getting ready to leave I was getting the kids all their jackets and we couldn't find Oakley's.  I must have dropped it on the way up to the suite.  They had to check my bags and it must have been knocked loose when they did and it just fell out.  It made me bummed because it was so cute but there isn't much I could do about it!

Oakley at nine months

He is a mover!
A week before he turned nine months he started crawling.  Reagan was sitting on the ground playing her DSi and Oakley started crawling towards her!  She kept on moving and he kept of following her.  We had him crawling for the old DS's all night long.  Now he is everywhere!  He tries to follow me into the kitchen, he does pretty good but the kitchen floor is a little slippery so he ends up going backwards sometimes!
Some other fun things that he is doing this month
*He got his first tooth
*He loves sticking out his tongue and feeling his new tooth
*He has discovered books and loves to sit on my lap and will let me read one or two books before he is done
*He has started sleeping better since he has been over RSV.  He usually goes seven hours before waking up.  I am still waiting for the 10 hour stretch...
*He can drink really good out of a sippy cup, which makes it so I can leave him for more than an hour
*He loves the kids but gets mad if someone other than mom or dad try to pick him up
*He can play so good by himself
He is such a happy baby and we are so glad he is in our family.  I just wish he would grow up a little slower!
